Come celebrate Memorial Day weekend at the New Ark Chorale’s popular annual program of American music and patriotic songs. Featured in this concert is John F. Hudson’s “Newtown Psalm,” a four-part piece in memory of the Sandy Hook Elementary School victims. “Be Still and Know that I am God” by Michael Larkin, based on Psalm 46, is in remembrance of the lives lost on 9/11. Also on the program are 18th century fugues, traditional songs of Appalachia and patriotic favorites to sing along. Bring the whole family and honor those who have served this country. Small flags will be given to all who attend and a Friendly’s ice cream social will follow the concert.
The concert will be presented at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 701 South College Ave. (Rt. 896) Newark, DE 19713 at 3 PM on Sunday, May 29, 2016. Tickets are $15 for adults; under 18 free. Groups of five or more tickets purchased together are $10 each. Reserve your tickets by calling (302) 368-4946 or purchase tickets at the door. Go to newarkchorale.org for more information and for driving and parking directions. There is plenty of free parking and the church is handicapped accessible.
