Join your neighbors at a public forum on responsible development on Thursday, January 12 at 7 PM. Councilwoman Lisa Diller, Representative Paul Baumbach, and Senator Dave Sokola will answer questions and address concerns regarding development in Newark and the surrounding areas. In particular, we will be discussing the proposed Briar Creek North development and how that will create a push for more development in the area at the expense of current residents’ quality of life.

Our Mission

ACCORD, the Alliance of Concerned Citizens on Responsible Development, recognizes that developments are inevitable, but there must be clearly defined limits on what is permissible before a development is allowed to proceed. We believe that all residents who will be impacted by a development must play a role in the approval process and be properly represented.  Our overarching mission is to unite citizens in Newark and the surrounding communities to stop sprawl and ensure responsible development. Once the floodgates to over-development are opened, there is no turning back.
