On Monday, August 7th at 6 pm the Delaware Small Business Chamber will hold a special “Dining in the Dark’ event at The Olive Tree Cafe. Attendees will enjoy seven small plate dishes from the Mediterranean area. As they will be unable to see, diners will use their remaining senses of smell, taste, sound, and touch to enjoy this meal. Don’t worry! All the dishes are very normal foods. (No one is going to try to serve you roasted bugs!) People with dietary exemptions can be accommodated with advance notice.

The Olive Tree Cafe offers cuisine from Greece, Italy, Turkey, Lebanon, Morocco, Spain, and France, the food, décor, and service has received glowing reviews from guests on Facebook and Yelp. They offer brunch, lunch, dinner, and specialty drinks and desserts, this place has something for everyone. There are also dozens of vegetarian options, including salads, appetizers, sandwiches, soups, and entrees. Olive Tree Cafe Owners Stephanie Ferrell and Elias Rhanim live right down the road from their business. They opened the restaurant in 2015 with a desire to create a neighborhood restaurant that would be casual and comfortable enough to stop in for a bite while running errands, while still feeling special enough for a date night or group celebration.

The cost for this special event is $50. for DSBC Members and $65 for non-members. In addition to the 7 small plates, guests will enjoy 1 glass of wine, beer, iced mint tea or soda. After the meal is completed The Olive Tree Cafe will be revealing what you were served.
